Eve Kushner is a writer in Berkeley, California. With her lifelong project Joy o’ Kanji, which she began in 2010, she is writing one essay about each of the 2,136 Joyo kanji. In 2009, Stone Bridge Press published her Crazy for Kanji: A Student’s Guide to the Wonderful World of Japanese Characters.

She has been interviewed about her kanji obsession on the NBC talk show “Asian Pacific America,” on a Japanese reality show, and on the PRI radio program “The World in Words.” Her blog “Kanji Curiosity” appeared on JapanesePod101.com from 2007 to 2010.
